Hoe werken wij?
De boomkwekerij werkt nauw samen met enkele instellingen zoals de tuinbouwschool te Hoogstraten, onderzoekcentrum ILVO te Melle voor de ontwikkeling van nieuwe soorten hortensia’s zoals Pinky Winky, Mega Mindy en Bobo en andere instellingen.

Onze kwekerij is ook aangesloten bij Best-Select. De missie van Best-Select is om kwaliteitsvolle nieuwigheden binnen het assortiment sierbomen op de markt te brengen. Hierbij focussen we ons op de ontwikkeling van resistente, duurzame cultivars die de consument aanspreken met een attractieve uitstraling.

Toekomst

Kwaliteit
Staat hoog in het vaandel van de Boomkwekerij Damen. Gebruik makend van natuurlijke producten wenst men sterke planten te telen zodat het gebruik van chemicaliën wordt vermeden of tot een minimum herleid. Ook de ontwikkeling en de exclusiviteit van nieuwe soorten blijft een prioriteit. Kwaliteit staat borg voor onze toekomst. Momenteel behoren afnemers in België, Nederland, Duitsland, Polen, Italië, Denemarken en Tsjechië tot onze klanten.

Ecologie
Werkzaam in de groene sector zijn we nauw met de natuur verbonden. Door (soms simpele) ingrepen helpen we de natuur een handje. Bij investeringen wordt dan ook altijd rekening gehouden met het ecologisch aspect. Eigen recyclage bespaart veel afval, groenafval wordt gecomposteerd. Met regenwater worden de serres beneveld en de planten gegoten.

Samenwerking
Naast onze coöperatie met andere kwekers zullen we ons blijven focussen op nieuwe ontwikkelingen in de sector via samenwerking met diverse instellingen. Ook de ontwikkeling van nieuwe soorten tuinplanten blijft een aandachtspunt. Ons familiebedrijf blijft ook samenwerken met de tuinbouwschool. Zo geeft ze de gelegenheid aan stagiairs om de stiel op een correcte manier middels de laatste technieken aan te leren.

How do we work?

Currently, customers in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Italy, Denmark and the Czech Republic are among our customers.

Ecology
Working in the green sector, we are closely connected with nature. By (sometimes simple) interventions we give nature a helping hand. When investing, the ecological aspect is always taken into account. Own recycling saves a lot of waste, green waste is composted. The greenhouses are misted with rainwater and the plants are poured.

Collaboration
In addition to our cooperation with other growers, we will continue to focus on new developments in the sector through collaboration with various institutions. The development of new types of garden plants also remains a point of attention. Our family business also continues to work with the horticultural school. She gives trainees the opportunity to learn the craft in a correct way using the latest techniques.
Our assortment is wide and varies between planting machines, maintenance machines and tree lifting machines.
